This Privacy Policy explains how Nourish by RD("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and progressive web app at https://nourishbyrd.com (the "Service").

Nourish by RD is a personal wellness and calorie tracking app. We are designed to help you log meals, water, and related goals. We are not a medical provider.

We collect information in these categories:

Account information (Google sign-in)

When you sign in with Google through our authentication provider (Supabase Auth), we receive information needed to create and secure your account, such as your email address, display name, and a stable user identifier. We use Google only to authenticate you. We do not read your Gmail or other Google account content.

Profile and goals

If you complete onboarding or update Settings, you may provide your name, age, height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences, cuisine preference, calorie and protein targets, water goals, and related wellness settings. We store this in your user profile to personalize the Service.

Wellness logs

When you use the Service, we store the content you log, including meal entries (food name, calories, macronutrients, meal type, serving notes, and how the entry was created), water intake logs, and optional notes. If you use food scan, we may store a photo you choose to upload with a meal entry in our cloud storage.

Device and usage information

To show "today" and history correctly for your local calendar day, we store your device time zone in a cookie on your browser. Our hosting providers may also process standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and reliability.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Store and display your meals, water logs, progress, and settings
• Generate estimated nutrition information when you use scan or related features
• Improve reliability, fix errors, and protect against abuse
• Respond to your requests and support inquiries

We do not sell your personal information.

If you use Scan or similar features, you may submit a food photo and/or a text description. That content is sent to OpenAI for automated analysis to suggest dish names and estimated calorie and macro ranges. Results are estimates only. They are not medical or nutritional facts.

OpenAI processes this content under its own terms and privacy practices. You can review OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

We do not use your food photos or descriptions to train our own models. Processing is performed to provide the scan feature you request.

We use trusted providers to run the Service. They process data on our behalf and under their own policies:

• Google for account sign-in
• Supabase for authentication, database, and private file storage
• OpenAI for food image and description analysis
• Vercel (or similar hosting) for serving the application

Each provider may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Your account data is stored in cloud infrastructure with access controls, including row-level security so your logs and profile are tied to your authenticated user ID. Meal photos you upload are stored in private storage associated with your account.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize your personal data, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.

You can:

• Update profile and targets in Settings
• Edit or remove individual meal entries in the app
• Sign out of your account at any time
• Request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing therdgroupco@gmail.com

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law. We will respond to valid requests in line with applicable requirements.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at therdgroupco@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

In some regions, including parts of the European Economic Area, a higher minimum age may apply for consent. Users must meet the minimum age required in their jurisdiction.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your home country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
